MY COACHING STYLE

I would describe my coaching style as a blend of pure coaching and business strategizing. With today's harried pace, my clients are looking for solutions and the answer to, "What can I try?"

On my StrengthFinders profile, I'm equal parts Relationship Building and Strategic Thinking.  I use both skill sets to offer clients ideas, resources and tools as well as empathy and focused listening.

For my solo entrepreneur clients, I love, love thinking up ways for them to reach new markets, sell more products or services and increase their visibility.

For my mid-level professionals, the strategizer in me loves to come up with ways to "manage" the boss, to play the corporate political game, and to make sure my client's communications are matching their intent.

THE USUAL BIO

Since starting my own business in 2003, I have worked with a broad array of coaching clients including managers at a Fortune 500 company, association executives, young women in male-dominated industries and mid-level professionals in career transition.

On the training side of my business, I help teams communicate better using the DiSC workstyles assessment.  I also teach coaching skills and develop and manage corporate mentor programs.

Prior to starting my coaching and consulting firm, I worked at several non-profit organizations and at the Michigan Chamber of Commerce where I transformed the Leadership Michigan program, providing me the opportunity to work with over one hundred of Michigan’s rising stars.

I earned my B.S. in Business from Miami University in Ohio and my M.B.A. from Western Michigan University.  I am a graduate of Leadership Kalamazoo.

I received my coaches training through the Coaches Training Institute (CTI).  I am a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and hold the second-level coaching credential, the PCC (Professional Certified Coach). I am a founding member and past president of the ICF - Michgian Chapter and co-author of Dragon Slayers Workbook for New Coaches: Secrets of Getting Great Results  (2005).

I author a Business Coching column for the Capital Area Women's Lifestyle magazine where I share coaching tips and offer thoughts and solutions on the problems my clients are facing.
